Chit–Chat
March 16 2008
A few days ago, I looked at the statistics of my web site. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the pages of this site
have been visited more than ten thousand times every week and from many countries. After being on the net for
only two months, this trend is astonishing.
First of all, I like to officially thank God almighty for sending us the Internet. So we the people on earth can connect
without supervision.
I also like to thank the appropriate departments in the divine counsel responsible for providing the high-speed
connection in some countries and urge them to continue the good work and expand the service everywhere.
Thousands of images of my artworks and pages of my writings have been downloaded.
The most fascinating statistics I noticed was the number of times my own picture on first page was downloaded.
Almost more than any other item on the site, hundreds of times a week! If I knew this would happen, swear to god
I would use the Paint Brush software to make myself a little more beautiful or at least post Tom Cruise’s photo
instead. But it’s too late now!
Thank you so much for visiting my site. Please keep reading and referring my site to your loved ones (and to ones
you don’t care for as much.)
I will continue writing my Life Story and gradually upload pieces of the novel I am in the process of writing. My
poetry, satire and paintings we will also be posted in the future.
Chit–Chat
May 5 2008
My dear web site visitors,
During the last two weeks, I tried to write a Chit-Chat and every time I sat down to do it I was inspired to do a
creative work. I had an itch to paint or to write so I immediately took a few anti-Histamines to relieve the itching
symptoms and they didn’t work. It must be spring, the allergy season! Believe it or not, I sneezed 2-3 times in every
paragraph of this text you’re reading now. So I recommend you to wash your eyes after reading these words with
soap and hot water, my thoughts might be contagious!
A few points I wanted to mention.
1. I’ve noticed many of the viewers had tried to use the contact form and were not able to reach me. Please
use my email address stavakkol@aol.com to contact me directly. I always value your comments, suggestions,
critiques and happy to respond to your questions one on one.
2. I will finish my life soon. No. No, It didn’t come out right. I meant to say that I’m going to finish “MY Life
Story” soon. The truth is that writing non-fiction is not my forte. There are so many issues I must consider in writing
a memoir. And I don’t like to fictionalize people and events in my autobiography. I cannot write about everything
and everyone as freely as I wish, what at a quandary that is lack of total freedom. But I’ll do my best.
3. As much as I like to write in Farsi, it’s very difficult to do so. Microsoft Word does not properly recognize
complex characters especially ours because we write from right to left and that confuses the hell out of Microsoft.
Sometimes I have to retype the same sentence over and over again to get it correctly. And then when I upload the
text on the site, it gets corrupted because the site manager software doesn’t recognize the characters either.
Corruption has penetrated everywhere. This is so sad and frustrating.
Thanks again for visiting my site and recommending it to your friends and don’t even bother denying your
involvement. The number of viewers has grown and I know you are the culprit. Please keep reading and referring
my site to your friends, family and total strangers especially the last group that has so many members.
Chit–Chat
March 23, 2009
Hello everyone,
It’s been a few months that I had no new chit chat posted. In general, my new postings have declined drastically.
“Why?” one might ask. I’ve been so busy lately with many projects at hand. And when I say at hand, I literally
mean at HAND.
During the last few weeks, I exposed myself to the wonderful world of music. Yes, I’m learning how to play
guitar. Therefore, I’m pleased to report to you that my left hand fingers are all covered by thick calluses now (this
is a prerequisite for future guitar players). Additionally, I recently noticed some dead skin flaking off my dear
calluses and once my index finger bled during intense practice! I did not go to see a doctor for these conditions
therefore I have no doctor’s note to prove anything. Considering the ordeal I’m going through, I hope turning into
an avid guitar player by this Thursday afternoon around 4:30!
Truth is that, I love and enjoy writing, painting and playing music. I also have a passion for learning new
languages. I have learned a few and have a couple more on the back burner. Remember there are only 24 hours
per day, minus 7 hours dreaming at night and a few more I usually spend daydreaming. So time is short.
To make the matter worse, to my utmost surprise, I’ve recently discovered that to make a living, I have to work
that demands some hours of my day. Don’t get me wrong, I like to make money but working for it is what I hate.
You can imagine how time consuming it is to manage all these projects simultaneously. As we Iranians say, I have
one head and a thousand ideas. A couple of days ago, it was our new year and I totally forgot, now you can see
why. By the way, Happy New Year to you if applicable.
Anyway, I try harder to update my website more often. I know I have a lot of catching up to do.
Please keep visiting my website and recommend it to your friends.
Chit-Chat
December 20 2009
Hello everyone.
Once again I would like to thank all of you for visiting my site, reading my fictional works, poetry,
satire and seeing my artworks. Although recently I have not done enough of uploading my works due
to my hectic personal life, your continuous support demonstrated by increasing in the viewership of
my site is truly gratifying and greatly appreciated.
Today I would like to share with you some of my concerns. In the last few months, many of my
writings have appeared on various online magazines and websites. Some of my artworks were also
used as backgrounds on personal blogs and websites. I have personally seen numerous cases of
such uses online and have been informed by the readers of my works in several print magazines
that published my works without my direct and explicit permission.
I have no qualm about anyone using my works in literary and art magazines and personal blogs of
any sort as long as there are not utilized for profit. However, there are some requirements and
conditions under which one is allowed to do so.
1. Publish my work only under my own full name and make certain my website address is printed
or posted next to my name.
2. Do not alter or edit my writing for any reason.
3. Do not remove my name from my artworks.
4. Contact me directly by email at stavakkol@aol.com if the contact form on the website does
not work to receive legal permission.
Finally, although I have done everything I could to make the site more easily accessible for visitors I
noticed there are still hundreds of viewers every month who unsuccessfully attempt to access my
website. Unfortunately neither I nor the Yahoo technical support knows why.
